Yin and Yang, Merging the Masculine and the Feminine

 

I have often heard I have balls.  Like big brass cajones!  While I understood people think I am gutsy, I didn’t understand that this made me more masculine than a feminine creature.  What I mean to say here is that people’s perception of me in those situations was that I grabbed bulls by horns and rode it until it keeled over.  It’s a risky business throwing yourself in front of the bull, the end result has the potential to be graphic and rather gory.  When the masculine figure comes out, he is all logic based, emotionless – or at least this is how he is conditioned to behave.  Underneath however is also a feminine side that touches emotional states, also more intuitive and nurturing aspects are hidden. 

 

I should have paid attention when my ex said I was just one of the guys.  Dude, you don’t take a guy home if you’re a guy unless you are homosexual or bi.  On one hand, I was proud I could hang with the male friends he had, as most of my friends were male anyway.  On the other hand, it deeply offended me in a way I never acknowledged.  I AM A DIVINE FEMININE!  I was conditioned to believe that logic ruled the day, so whenever I was hurt or stuck in Ego the Masculine came out as a form of protection.  Cold, clinical, and unrelenting the Masculine safeguarded deep feminine pain underneath.  Again, in the spiritual journey, you discover that you have both the Yin and the Yang in yourself.  Understanding how the two works together is a key to understanding yourself.  How do you know you are stuck in one of the two energies?

 

Contemplate these questions:

• In any given situation are you being more analytical and logical rather than touching your emotional intuitive nurturing side or vice versa?

• Are you able to stand back and look at the situation during it to see how your masculine or feminine are playing out during the situation?

• Can you change your perspective and reverse the masculine or feminine energy?

 

It should be pointed out here, that the masculine and feminine energies align with left brain and right brain processing.  Left is more feminine, and right is more masculine.
